Fortress Real Developments is entering the Winnipeg market with SkyCity Centre, which was designed by a team of consultants and designers to change the landscape of downtown Winnipeg. The 45-storey mixed-use tower is planned to be the tallest tower between Toronto and Calgary, and will feature 388 residential units and over 30,000 square feet of amenity space available exclusively to residents.

During the official opening of the presentation centre in September 2015, a line-up of interested purchasers formed around the block. 60 units were immediately sold to VIP purchasers. After the public opening, a total of over 100 units were sold, bringing in over $30 million in sales, with more expected following several more promotional events planned prior to the holiday season.

During the openings, interested purchasers browsed floorplans, were given a tour of a fully-furnished model suite and viewed an eight-foot-tall scale model of the tower. According to the company, many advance purchasers believe in the revitalization of downtown Winnipeg, enough so to invest in a unit.

“We knew that if we took the time to design something iconic and really understand what the demand is in this market, we would see the response like we do in all major cities,” said Jawad Rathore, CEO of Fortress Real Developments, in a press release. “The location of this site coupled with the design make it the premier address in the city, and one that will be desirable for years to come.”

The project, exclusively listed by Royal LePage Dynamic Real Estate in Winnipeg, will also feature 60,000 square feet of office space and 20,000 square feet of retail space in the tower’s podium. The builder for the development will be announced before the end of 2015.
