Saskatchewan’s recent election results returned the Saskatchewan Party to office in its third consecutive majority government. Following the election results, the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) extended its congratulations to Premier Wall on his victory and offered its continued support to his work improving the province’s hospitals, highways and schools.

During the election, citizens of Saskatchewan have stated their support for the use of public-private partnerships (P3s) to design, build, finance, and in some cases, maintain and operate large and complicated infrastructure projects. Election results back up findings from Nanos Research conducted on behalf of the CCPPP that suggest 74.6 per cent of Canadians living in the Prairies support P3s.

Saskatchewan features one of the most active P3 markets in Canada, with nine projects at the provincial and municipal levels in various sectors already developed. These projects saved hundreds of millions of dollars while addressing the needs of communities across the province.

“Public-private partnerships are an important tool for public sector agencies to consider when contemplating the need to expand or improve their infrastructure projects,” said Mark Romoff, CCPPP president and CEO, in a press release. “Our council commends the Premier and his government for their leadership in promoting the appropriate use of P3s to support Saskatchewan’s growth and prosperity.”
