Tarion recently announced the winners of its annual Homeowners’ Choice Awards, which honour outstanding homebuilders that have received the highest customer service ratings from home buyers across Ontario.
The awards recognize outstanding service from homebuilders in four categories: Small, Medium, Large Volume and High-Rise. In 2017, Tarion asked over 56,900 new home buyers about their builder’s performance and the level of service their builder provided before, during and after they moved into their new home. More than 11,500 homeowners responded, choosing recipients for outstanding customer service in the four categories.
Plazacorp Investments was presented with the 2018 Homeowners’ Choice Award in the High-Rise Category. Plazacorp, operating as the trademark Plaza, are the builders behind such projects as Musée, Plaza Midtown and the Theatre District Residence.
“A new home is one of life’s biggest investments and that’s why it’s important to have it built by someone you can trust who understands your needs,” says Tarion President and CEO Howard Bogach, in a press release. “The builders recognized by these awards have demonstrated exemplary customer service to their homeowners and by doing set an example for others to follow. I’m pleased to congratulate all the recipients for helping to raise the bar for the new home building industry.”
Last year, Tarion introduced the Ernest Assaly Award, which is presented to an Ontario builder that demonstrates a commitment to building quality and innovation, customer service and community involvement. The recipient of the award is determined by Tarion’s Board of Directors. Similar to a lifetime achievement award, builders may only receive this recognition once. This year, Tarion presented the award to Tridel.
Homeowners’ Choice Award recipients were announced at a luncheon in Vaughan on May 1.
