Grants will be available to help Ontario’s cultural and faith-based organizations ensure their gathering spaces comply with public health requirements. Further details and an application portal for the $50-million fund announced in the 2021 provincial budget are promised for later this spring.
The funds are earmarked for eligible organizations that: operate facilities where their membership is meant to meet; have faced additional costs related to the pandemic; and have not been eligible for other COVID-19 relief programs for small businesses. The budget document states the grants will “provide meaningful support and help offset costs associated with making these facilities safe for regular community gatherings.”
