Ben Fehrmann has been promoted to HOK design principal in Canada. He will oversee the architecture and design teams in Ottawa and Calgary.
Fehrmann’s tenure at HOK is split into two parts. He joined the St. Louis studio in 1999. His projects included the Indianapolis International Airport Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal, Chelsea Arts Tower in New York, Dulles International Airport APM Stations and the St. Louis Lambert International Airport Experience Program.
After leaving HOK in 2006, Fehrmann spent 11 years plotting a comeback. During this time he led his own architectural practice and taught at the University of Kansas (his alma mater) and Washington University in St. Louis.
Fehrmann rejoined HOK as a consultant in 2017 and as an employee in in 2018. Soon after that, he moved from St. Louis to Ottawa to accept a position as the lead design architect on the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project and Parliamentary Welcome Centre. Fehrmann now will be moving again this time to Toronto which, with 110 people, is HOK’s largest office in Canada.

Caitlin Turner has been promoted to director of interiors for Canada. She joined HOK’s Toronto studio in 2011 and most recently had been director of design, interiors. Her recent clients have included Cooperators Insurance, Boston Consulting Group, Stryker and Bentall Kennedy.
Turner began her HOK career as an intern student and is especially passionate about mentoring and investing in employee development.
