Cintas Corp. has named the restrooms at Borden Park in Edmonton, Alta. as the winner of its Canada’s Best Restroom Award.
The award, which celebrated its 12 year this year, honours businesses that value hygiene and style and recognize the parallel between clean restrooms and customer retention.
The Borden Park facilities were designed as a single-level pavilion surrounded by highly reflective glass and feature a stainless-steel trough-style sink that prevents splashing, as well as hands-free fixtures to reduce the spread of germs.
The facility beat fellow nominees Toronto Zoo, Surrey Park, Red Deer’s Sweet Market Esso Station, and Calgary’s The ROOFTOP bar.
“Public washrooms play an important role for people who are on the go, but this contest proves not all facilities are created equal,” said Candice Raynsford, Cintas Canada marketing manager. “Borden Park prioritized providing a clean and inviting washroom, and the public showed their appreciation by voting them Canada’s Best Restroom.”
As the grand prize winner, Borden Park will receive a Cintas UltraClean® system and CAN$2,500 worth of services from Cintas as well as enshrinement in Canada’s Best Restroom Contest Hall of Fame.
The 2020 winner of Canada’s Best Restroom was also from Alberta: Westview RV Park.
