Toronto-based CSA Group has opened a lighting testing facility in Irvine, California. With the new venue, CSA Group promises to hasten turnaround times for getting products into the marketplace through centralized offering of testing, inspection and certification services, including certification requirements for Canada and Europe.

“Establishing our Lighting Center of Excellence in Southern California, in close proximity to many of our customers, will help us strengthen the customer experience,” says KC Fletcher, manager of the new facility — noting that North American lighting manufacturers are “faced with an increasingly competitive marketplace and ongoing supply chain challenges.”

The facility is a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) in compliance with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and is also equipped to provide photobioligcal, photometric, acoustic and energy performance testing. This should help manufacturers avoid delays that might arise in a multi-locational testing and certification process.
