Office tower showcases largest sloped roof

Tuesday, June 6, 2023

Graham Construction has topped off the B6 office tower at 1090 West Pender in downtown Vancouver. At 400 feet above ground, the tower now has the largest sloped roof in North America at that height.

BentallGreenOak’s newest office tower is a 32-storey, $187M concrete structure in the heart of the Vancouver financial district overlooking Vancouver’s waterfront, North Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains.

The 534,000-square-foot office tower includes six levels of below-grade parking, a three-level retail podium, an office tower and several tenant amenity spaces including three outdoor terraces, with a large rooftop terrace that overlooks the entire downtown core.

The façade is finished with a triple-glazed 4-SSG curtain wall system, with small elements of composite cladding.

Designed by Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership, the project is targeting LEED Gold standards and WELL certification. The building is also incorporating Passive House elements, including vertical glass fins to reduce sun exposure, triple glazed glass and a green roof.

The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2023.
