Delta Hotels and Resorts unveiled its newest hotel at a topping off event Oct. 8, which marked the completion of the Delta Toronto at Southcore Financial Centre’s 46th floor.
“The Delta Toronto is truly a unique hotel property in the Greater Toronto Area market,” said Ken Greene, president and CEO of Delta Hotel and Resorts. “We are excited to bring our upscale hospitality experience, as well as our reputation for service excellence, to Toronto’s newest neighbourhood.”
Located in the city’s South Core district, the flagship hotel is connected to the two towers that make up the Southcore Financial Centre, as well as to the PATH system, which provides access to Union Station and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
It features 567 guest rooms, a yoga studio, restaurant with outdoor patio, meeting and conference facilities, and a 4,000-square-foot terrace. Guest rooms exceed the four-star luxury standard size, at an average of 400 square feet.
The hotel is being built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards, and will include sustainable features such as heat recovery ventilation, smartcards to control room lighting and air, and green roofs.
The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2014.
