A $657,000, four-unit affordable housing development in Prince Albert’s West Flat neighbourhood has officially opened. The project, which was financed by the Government of Saskatchewan and the P. A. Community Housing Society Inc. (PACHSI), an Aboriginal housing provider, will provide rental housing for small families.
“This development is another wonderful example of partners coming together to ensure Saskatchewan people have a home that meets their needs,” says Victoria Jurgens, Prince Albert Northcote MLA. “These four homes will provide Prince Albert families with a secure and comfortable environment in which they can plan for the future and become a part of the community. We are proud to work with PACHSI to make this project come to life. Together, we will continue to keep Saskatchewan growing strong, now and for future generations.”
The province provided $340,000, through the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, for the construction of the project and PACHSI supplied the remainder.
The two-storey development, located at 1249-15th St. West, consists of four 945-square-foot homes with two levels. The four-plex is situated near schools and neighbourhood green spaces. Its official opening took place on Jan. 19.
