Ivanhoé Cambridge is investing more than $50 million in Quebec City-based shopping centre, Place Ste-Foy.
In the first phase of redevelopment, the money will fund the centre’s indoor spaces, mainly the 68,000 square feet of space Les Ailes de la Mode once occupied.
The food court will relocate to the centre’s north wing, with the addition of new restaurants in more open, comfortable spaces. In addition, the replacement of flooring will continue.
The centre’s 8.6 million visitors per year can also look forward to new major brand stores, such as Lululemon and Nespresso, along with other stores like Gap and Browns Shoes undergoing expansions or complete renovations.
“Place Ste-Foy has long enjoyed an excellent reputation and we are very pleased to be able to upgrade the shopping experience to meet the needs and expectations of consumers and retailers,” said Donald Larose, general manager of Place Ste-Foy.
Jean Landry, vice-president of shopping centres, Quebec, for Ivanhoé Cambridge, added that the company has made it a priority to invest in its best shopping centres so they “maintain their competitive position” and offer customers a “shopping experience that meets their expectations.”
