Cynthia Devine will assume the role of chief financial officer of RioCan beginning March 16, 2015.

Her vast financial experience extends to senior executive positions at Maple Leaf Foods and Pepsi-Cola Canada, where she was CFO. From 2009 to 2012, Devine was a member of ING Direct Canada’s board of directors, and from 2003 to 2014 she served as chief financial officer for Tim Hortons.

“Ms. Devine is a recognized and highly respected business leader in Canada, said Edward Sonshine, chief executive officer of RioCan. “In addition to her financial acumen, her experience with Tim Hortons provides her with an excellent background and unique understanding of our tenant’s operations and retailers’ concerns.”

Currently, Devine is a director of Empire Company Limited. She was twice designated one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women and earned the title of Canada’s CFO of the Year in 2010.
