In an effort to help facility administrators better prepare for the reopening of schools this fall, the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) is hosting a webinar on the best practices to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, with emphasis on the vital role of hand hygiene, cleaning, and disinfecting.
The webinar, “Considerations and Guidance for Schools: Hand Hygiene, Cleaning and Disinfection for Reopening,” will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 4:00 PM EST.
Resources and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on preparing for K-12 school reopening and their subsequent operations during the COVID-19 pandemic will be made available to participants. Questions from attendees will also be addressed.
Presenters include the CDC’s Jennifer Cope, MD, MPH, team lead domestic water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) epidemiology team; and Carrie Dooyema, MPH, MSN, RN, team lead, early care and education team. The discussion will be moderated by ACI’s Brian Sansoni, senior vice president, communication, outreach, and membership.
“Schools, working together with local health departments, have an important role in slowing the spread of diseases and protecting vulnerable students and staff, to help ensure students have safe and healthy learning environments,” read an ACI press release announcing the webinar. “Schools serve students, staff and visitors from throughout the community. All of these people may have close contact in the school setting, often sharing spaces, equipment and supplies.”
Interested parties can register for the event on ACI’s website.
