Nine real estate companies across Canada have been named among 50 winners of Deloitte’s 2015 Canada’s Best Managed Companies awards program.
The program honours Canadian privately-owned and managed companies that demonstrate ongoing excellence in innovative management and business performance.
“With many unknowns surrounding today’s economic outlook, keeping a close eye on market conditions is critical for all Canadian businesses, but especially for privately owned enterprises,” said Peter E. Brown, national co-leader of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program and partner at Deloitte Private. “Best Managed companies identify and prepare for potential swings in the market ahead of time. This allows them to adapt their business models and shift investment strategies to areas that are still important to the business, while simultaneously being shielded from adverse market consequences.”
Among the recipients are Cardel Lifestyles and Chandos based in Alberta, and Dependable Mechanical Systems Inc., Forest Contractors Ltd., Mulvey & Banani International Inc., Quadrangle Architects and WZMH Architects all located in Ontario. Wildstone Group of Companies in British Columbia is also a winner, along with Crosbie Group Limited and Member Companies in Newfoundland.
In the construction sector, EBC Inc. in Ontario and PD Group of Companies Inc., an industrial construction company in Alberta, were also named to the Best Managed list.
In 2015, more than 150 companies reached Platinum Club status, having maintained their Best Managed designation for seven years or more. As it stands, the Best Managed program has grown to recognize 406 companies, including the program’s Requalified members and Gold Standard winners.
