Peter Heys, a 28-year veteran in the field of high-performance workplace and commercial interior design, has joined B+H Architects’ North American team as Director of the Toronto Interior Design Studio.

In his new role, Heys will lead the firm’s talented Toronto interior design team across workplace, hospitality and health-care design sectors. He will also be in charge of strategic growth in the interior design sector.

“I am excited to join B+H Architects and look forward to working with the accomplished team,” said Heys, in a press release. “From day one, I was impressed by the people and the workplace culture. High quality work and the broad spectrum of design excellence across multiple industries drew me to this challenge.”

Before joining B+H, Heys was a Practice Lead for one of the country’s top corporate workplace interiors teams where he helped grow the practice and worked on several high-profile clients such as Bell Canada, RBC Financial Group, Apple Canada and Kraft Canada, to name a few.

Heys is a professor at Ryerson School of Interior Design, his alma mater, where he teaches the Professional Practice course to senior design students. He is known as a mentor in Canada’s design community and is passionate about educating the next generation of Canadian designers. Heys also hosts the top 40 emerging design practitioners in Canada at the annual IDC PROpel conference.

“Peter’s thoughtful design philosophy and client-oriented approach is what makes him a recognized industry leader and a true asset to our partners and clients,” said Lisa Bate, B+H’s Regional Managing Principal for North America. “His strengths in strategy and innovative planning solutions will shape and elevate our Interior Design Studio and we are excited to welcome him.”
