Olympic gold medalist and entrepreneur, Bruny Surin, has signed on as a motivational consultant for Quebec’s rental housing industry association, CORPIQ (Corporation des propriétaires immobiliers du Québec). The new role is envisioned as a chef de mission for Quebec landlords with Surin available to offer mentorship and team-building guidance.

“The decision to select this world-renowned candidate reflects CORPIQ’s values to promote: self-improvement; the continuous acquisition of knowledge; personal and professional growth,” affirms a statement from the organization, which boasts more than 30,000 members who collectively own more than 600,000 rental housing units, and a network of 150 product and service providers to the industry. “His human approach, personal experiences and life journey will be an asset to the well-being of both landlords and tenants.”

Surin is leadership consultant, philanthropist and owner of an apparel company. He is a member of the Order of Canada and an inductee in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame and the Quebec Sports Hall of Fame.

Surin has been appointed chef de mission of the Canadian Olympic team for the 2024 games in Paris. During a long and successful track and field career, he competed in four Olympic games, was a 1992 finalist in the 100 metres and a 1996 gold medalist in the 4×100 relay. He also won two world championships as a 4×100 relay team member.

Through the new collaboration with CORPIQ, Surin will be available as a workshop leader and motivational speaker. CORPIQ and Surin will also continue existing joint efforts as patrons of Projet Clé, a foundation of Centre de protection de l’enfance et de la jeunesse, which provides support for youth as they turn 19 and move out of government custodianship.
