The Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) brand has gone through a major refresh as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
“CAGBC’s new look is bold, like the action the building sector must take to reduce carbon emissions. It is approachable, like our staff who support you in your sustainability goals, and it is dynamic and forward-looking, like the sector we represent,” said Thomas Mueller, president and CEO.
Central to the rebrand is the new logo mark. It features our recognizable short form CAGBC with a stylized letter G. The arrow’s upward trajectory signifies the need to accelerate green building to realize our shared mission: a more sustainable future for all.
The new tagline, Building our way forward, reflects green building’s potential as a force for positive change. It recognizes that our collective impact on the environment demands urgent attention and that by working together, green buildings can create a prosperous, low-carbon, and livable future for all.
The brand refresh also includes a new colour palette and approach to visuals, most evident in the redesigned CAGBC website, cagbc.org. The website is now cleaner and designed to showcase CAGBC members and green building in Canada. While these brand changes come as CAGBC enters its 20th anniversary year, they are designed to take the Council into the next 20.
“Change is part of CAGBC’s DNA,” said Mueller. “We are in the business of changing hearts and minds about how buildings are designed, constructed and managed. Supporting the sector’s transition to green and zero-carbon building requires constant innovation and a drive to keep moving forward. Our new brand reflects how we are changing to meet our industry’s needs in a time of rapid transformation.”
After two years of pandemic restrictions, the organization’s annual conference, Building Lasting Change returns to Toronto’s Beanfield Centre, June 1-3, 2022.
