Denis Pelletier has been appointed chief operating officer of the Canada Renewable Bioenergy Corp.
Since March 2014, Pelletier was a consultant for the company, working with Fortec Consulting Inc. in a number of roles related to forest operation management, permitting for companies and developing a biomass manufacturing facility.
From working in coastal operations with International Forest Products to joining the Ministry of Forests for four years as a resource analyst, Pelletier has a focused background in B.C.’s forest management industry.
After he became a resource analyst, planner and department manager with Timberline Forest Inventory Consultants, he moved into an executive role there, managing the Northern B.C. region and Prince George branch for seven years.
During this time, he also made Timberline co-founder of Borealis offsets, an afforestation carbon credit company.
Pelletier was also chief operating officer and president of National Choice Bio-Fuels from 2008 to 2011, where he worked with Lhtake Dene Nation to secure a partnership for a 15-year license to develop a pellet factory that produced 10 metric tonnes per hour.
