CIBC Mellon opened another office in Mississauga, Ontario last week, bringing more than 150 accounting, client service, operations and related professional roles to Canada’s sixth largest city.
The company is transferring employees from its downtown Toronto headquarters and continuing to recruit young talent and experienced professionals in the Mississauga area. The company cites high accessibility, local amenities and a thriving business community as reasons for expanding in the city.
Financial services is a leading industry in Mississauga. CIBC Mellon will provide a range of client services there, including custody services, and institutional and pension accounting.
Toronto-based WZMH Architects designed the new space, setting out to provide natural daylight for all workstations as well as collaborative staff spaces for a healthy work-life balance,
“We wanted to create an innovative workspace that not only promotes connectedness and productivity, but that also truly reflects the sophisticated CIBC Mellon brand,” says Zenon Radewych, WZMH partner-in-charge. “We worked closely with the client to ensure their vision for the space was implemented.”
WZMH has previously undertaken interior design projects for large corporate clients both in Canada and abroad, including the Royal Bank, IBM, the Shanghai Securities Exchange and the Nation Towers complex in Abu Dhabi, to name a few.
