A new standard intended to address cleaning and disinfection of healthcare facilities – CSA Z8000-18 – that provide inpatient or outpatient services is open for public review until August 21, 2019.
According to the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care’s press release, the review includes cleaning of HCFs using both manual disinfection practices and automated disinfection systems and applies to all personnel that perform cleaning and disinfection functions.
The standard is being developed by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Subcommittee on Cleaning and Disinfection of Health Care Facilities.
