Construction has started on the Davisville Community and Aquatic Centre to bring local access to recreational and wellness services to the Toronto neighbourhood.
The multi-use facility will feature a wide range of amenities, programming spaces and multi-purpose rooms, which together, are designed to accommodate both individual fitness goals and group activities in an accessible format.
The new centre will also share facilities with the new Davisville Junior Public School through a partnership with the Toronto District School Board. The school will have access to the facility’s swimming pools and the City will have access to the school’s double gymnasium and underground parking garage outside of school hours to support City recreation programming.
When it opens in 2027 it will feature energy-efficient systems and environmentally responsible design elements. A 25-metre swimming pool and warm-water leisure pool for therapeutic use and family-friendly programming are planned.
The City also recently launched an outreach campaign to review and refresh Parks and Recreation Facilities Plan and Parkland Strategy. All residents can share their opinions by participating online until Wednesday, December 18. More information including opportunities to provide feedback is available here.
