Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) have selected 12 Canadian interior designers to be inducted to the IDC College of Fellows. This is the highest honour awarded to IDC members who have made a significant contribution to the association and advancement of the profession.
“The IDC College of Fellows celebrates members who have positively impacted the interior design profession through their collaboration and service to Interior Designers of Canada. These members have helped to progress the interior design profession,” said Tony Brenders, IDC CEO.
The following inductees were carefully chosen by the IDC nominations committee:
- Donna Assaly, principal, Assaly Interior Design
- Ada Bonini, principal, BYU Design Ltd.
- Denis Chouinard, former senior advisor, Real Estate Portfolio and Occupancy Planning, Desjardins Group
- Aandra Currie Shearer, past president, IDC
- David Gibbons, partner at LWG Architectural Interiors
- Allan Guinan, founding partner, figure3
- David Hanson, owner, DH Designs
- Caroline Hughes, founding partner, figure3
- Kara MacGregor, principal, MAC Interior Design Inc.
- Linda Makins, principal, MAKINSACHANGE Creative Environments
- Rachel Mitton, department head of the Building and Office Administration department, CCNB-Dieppe
- Jenny Mueller-Garbutt, past president, IDC
Founded in 1972, IDC is the national advocacy association for the interior design profession. As the national advocacy body, IDC represents more than 5,000 members including fully qualified interior designers, Intern members (who have yet to pass their exams), students, educators and retired members. In addition, we have as members over 200 manufacturers and suppliers who provide products and services for interior design projects and firms.
