Manga Hotels has acquired the Ottawa Marriott Hotel from InnVest Hotels. The 489-room full-service hotel is located one block from Parliament Hill and offers 36,000 square feet of meeting space among its amenities.
“This strategic acquisition further strengthens our position of owning and operating high quality properties in diversified markets throughout Canada and the U.S.,” says Sukhdev Toor, president and chief executive officer of Manga Hotels.
The privately held Canadian company owns and operates 24 hotels and has six new hotel developments in progress. Its portfolio also includes 14 food and beverage outlets and three residential properties.
The transaction is the second of two summertime deals for vendor, InnVest, which recently announced the acquisition of the historic St. Andrews-by-the-Sea resort in New Brunswick and its accompanying golf course. The 220-acre site on the Bay of Fundy is to be managed by iHotels Management.
“This property is an iconic east coast destination and a key addition to our portfolio as we expand our footprint in the resort segment,” says InnVest’s chief executive officer, Lydia Chen.
