Place Ville Marie and the World Trade Centre Montréal, two properties owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge, have both earned LEED Silver certification.
Claude Sirois, co-chief operating officer and executive vice-president, Quebec, for Ivanhoé Cambridge, said the designation helps position both Montreal-based properties as leaders in energy-efficient buildings and is also a “highly important advantage for tenants in the 21st century.”
Located downtown, the 3,400,000-square-foot Place Ville Marie is now the largest property in Canada to have earned LEED Silver.
This complex has undergone significant renovations to include new building systems and energy-efficient infrastructures, including modernization of the cooling towers, installation of a more efficient exterior envelope and upgrading of the main ventilation systems, among many other features.
World Trade Centre Montréal, located between the downtown core and Old Montréal, recently underwent several enhancements, such as a major heritage refurbishment, HVAC system and power management system upgrades, and the improvement of its domestic water management system.
