John Bartkiw is now managing director of Fengate Capital Management’s real estate team.

Bartkiw will oversee all aspects of the company’s real estate platform from the new company office in Oakville, Ontario. Areas of focus include investments and asset and property management, while looking to source and create new investment opportunities.

“I am very impressed with the depth of our real estate platform,” Bartkiw said. “I would like to see us continue to grow by creating new investment vehicles that appeal to both our existing and future clients.”

Bartkiw has more than 25 years of experience in several senior executive roles. For the last seven years he worked for the Canadian Head of Real Estate for both Macquarie Capital Markets Ltd. and Raymond James Limited, where he was responsible for growing the real estate investment banking practices at both firms.

He was also co-founder and chief financial officer of InStorage REIT and InScotia Developments LP.
