Jon W. Douglas has assumed the role of director of sustainability with Menkes Developments, where he will identify strategic priorities and oversee the implementation of sustainable practices and standards. Bringing 10 years of experience in project management and sustainability consulting to his new responsibilities, Jon will provide guidance to Menkes’ property management and development teams.
“Sustainability is most successful and has long-term impact when it supports the organization’s strategic vision,” he says. “These initiatives thrive when personnel work in tandem with finance, marketing and operations divisions.”
Jon was previously a sustainability practice leader with Perkins + Will and the national program manager, sustainability division, with MMM Group Consulting. He holds an MBA from Western University’s Ivey School of Business and is a LEED accredited professional in building design and construction (BD&C) and operations and maintenance (O&M). Earlier this year, he was named among 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders by Corporate Knights.
