Kasian, an international integrated design firm, has announced its acquisition of modo, an award-winning Toronto-based interior design firm. The team of modo project managers and designers, including modo partners Chantal Frenette and Scott Norwood, will move into Kasian’s Toronto office to help the firm better serve local and national clients.

“The addition of modo will reinforce our commitment to workplace design and enhance our ability to deliver excellence across integrated projects in all market sectors,” said Don Kasian, founder and president of Kasian, in a press release.

Among modo’s diverse client base are AVIVA, Canadian Tire, IBM Canada, Interac, Metrolinx, MMM Group, Morneau Shepell, Morrison Hershfield, Raymond James and RBC.

“We are very proud to join this well-recognized international firm,” said Frenette. “The collaborative energy of our two groups will benefit current and future clients.”

“Kasian and modo share a similar corporate culture and people-centric work style,” Norwood added. “This was important to all of us.”

Frenette’s specialty in workplace and design and Norwood’s background in project implementation and architectural technology has helped the firm garner attention. In addition, modo was selected to design the offices shared by the Interior Designers of Canada and the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario, a project which was featured in Canadian Interiors.
