Magna Hotels has purchased the 196-room Holiday Inn Halifax Harbourview from Toronto’s Innvest Real Estate with plans for a $6.5-million renovation starting in spring 2016.
Magna acquired the Dartmouth-based conference facility in a deal facilitated by Colliers International. The private hotel investment company currently owns 12 properties across Canada, including three Halifax-area hotels.
The hotel, comprised of more than 14,000 square feet, is centrally situated at the base of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge, less than 10 minutes from downtown and offers unobstructed views of the city and Halifax Harbour.
The property features flexible meeting space, a seasonal outdoor pool and courtyard area, full-service restaurant, fitness club, and business centre. Rooms will be fully revamped, with updates to the lobby and meeting rooms.
