A new batch of Manitoba businesses are reopening under Phase Two of the province’s plan to restore service.
All facilities will continue to adhere to the rules established in the first phase of reopening, unless specifically noted in the Phase Two roadmap.
For instance, restaurants and bars can now serve guests in their dining room as well as on their patio, but operators must cap occupancy at 50 per cent of normal capacity and ensure the recommended two-metre distance is maintained between tables.
Many types of businesses must also adhere to specific cleaning protocols. Gyms and community centres, for example, must allow adequate time to disinfect surfaces and equipment between fitness classes.
Other businesses included in the province’s second phase include:
- Schools for staff and specific programs; classroom learning remains suspended until the end of the school year
- Personal services businesses, including manicurists and pedicurists, tattoo parlours, estheticians, cosmetologists, electrologists and tanning parlours
- Film productions, with the recommendation that virtual pre-production and/or virtual rehearsals be implemented whenever possible
