HOSPECO, a leading supplier of vended menstrual care products, introduced a new microsite, which contains resources to help people start their own Period Partner campaigns, as well as product information, case studies, and tools to guide businesses looking to join the movement.
The Period Partner initiative values the belief that menstrual care products are necessities, too. Tampons and pads should be readily available in every public restroom outside the home. HOSPECO has worked with various women’s organizations to advocate for universal access to these products. The company hopes to generate a change in what is expected in well-appointed, away-from-home restrooms.
Almost every person who menstruates has experienced an unexpected need for menstrual care supplies away from home. In fact, in an American survey, 86 per cent of people reported that they’ve started their periods unexpectedly in public without the supplies they needed.
“The bathroom equality movement is real and these products should be as readily available as toilet paper and just as free,” said Bill Hemann, HOSPECO vice president of sales and marketing. “We hope the new microsite will continue the conversation about this important issue. It’s time for public restrooms to evolve into the 21st century. It shouldn’t have taken this long.”
