The new design of the Queen Charlotte/Haida Gwaii Hospital replacement project has been unveiled.
Designed by Perkins+Will, the 17-bed hospital in northern B.C. will include emergency services, oncology services, diagnostic imaging and administrative offices. It will be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification.
Bouygues Building Canada was selected as the preferred proponent in June, and is currently working with Northern Health to finalize a design-build agreement to deliver the project.
Construction on the new facility is expected to begin this summer, and is scheduled for completion in fall 2015. The project will cost $50 million.
