SSDG Interiors has announced new leadership for the Vancouver design firm with the retirement of founding partner Gerry Shinkewski. Veteran associate Kenna Manley will step in as a new partner. The transition is set to happen October 1, 2016.
Manley has been with SSDG for more than a decade, starting as a student and quickly growing to the talented designer and strong leader she is today. She has led many award winning projects and she will compliment Susan and Julie’s skills to ensure SSDG continues to grow and prosper.
“Kenna brings immense energy and opportunity to our clients and to our work,” said Shinkewski. “Her natural leadership revolves around the sharing of ideas. Her strong work ethic and passion for design are inspiring.”
Continuing the SSDG legacy has always been important to the leaders of the company. Formerly Seeton Shinkewski Design Group Ltd., SSDG Interiors Inc. was founded in 1980 by Keath Seeton and Gerry Shinkewski. SSDG’s succession planning started back in June 1996, when Susan Steeves, a seven-year employee of SSDG, purchased one-third of the company, and it continued five years ago when Julie Campbell purchased Seeton’s shares. Manley will be the newest SSDG partner to continue the legacy.
“It’s exciting to be part of a company that can evolve, change and thrive,” echoed Steeves. “Kenna knows us as partners and as a company. Her dynamic personality and genuine care for co-workers and clients will make this transition seamless for our clients and partners.”
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Kenna to the leadership team,” added Campbell. “She shares our vision for a strong team, is respectful of others, thoughtful in design decisions and adaptable to change.”
