Nokia Canada’s newly opened office in Toronto’s Harbourfront community is expected to bring more workers to the downtown core as the company expands its presence to meet rising demand for next-generation networking.
The modern hybrid setting offers a flexible work model where teams can come together and share ideas. All employees will have the option to be remote, hybrid or in-person full time, with collaboration technologies to enable virtual teams.
Last year, the company announced the creation of a sustainable research and development hub in Ottawa to attract global talent. “Our growing presence across Canada maps to the increased demand we are seeing from customers and partners and will enable us to deliver secure, high performing, and trusted critical networking solutions,” said Nokia Canada President Jeffrey Maddox in a press release.
The new Queens Quay East office building, part of the Sugar Wharf redevelopment, was chosen for its focus on sustainability and Class AAA LEED and Energy Star certifications. The location is also near public transportation to help reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
