Ontario is committing up to $501.3 million toward the construction of a new four-storey patient care building at Milton District Hospital. The project is currently underway and is expected to be completed in spring 2017.
The new building will offer priority clinical services such as critical care, maternal newborn, diagnostic imaging, emergency, surgery and inpatient beds. It will also house the hospital’s first Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine and a Special Care Nursery with eight bassinettes.
Plenary Health has been awarded the contract to design, build, finance and maintain the hospital expansion project.
This investment is part of more than $130 billion that Ontario will invest over 10 years toward the improvement of roads, bridges, transit systems, schools and hospitals across the province.
