After presiding during an era of phenomenal growth in smart technologies, Ron Zimmer is retiring as president and chief executive officer of the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA). His 23-year tenure saw CABA emerge as a prominent international association, which today boasts more than 380 member organizations in the private, public and non-governmental sectors.
Zimmer has been actively involved with the CABA Intelligent & Integrated Buildings Council, the CABA Connected Home Council and as CABA’s representative on the Automation Federation board of directors, as well as serving on the advisory board for IBcon, an intelligent buildings conference hosted by Realcomm. He has also been a frequent contributor to industry discussions and presentations on integrated buildings and home and building automation, and has authored a number of articles on those subjects.
“The CABA board of directors and staff extend their sincere thanks to Ron, who used his experience and insights to effectively advance thought leadership and collaboration across the connected homes and intelligent building industry,” a statement from CABA advises. “Without his service and contributions to CABA over the years, the association would not be where it is today.”
