26 infrastructure projects across Saskatchewan will receive more than $43 million in collective financing under the New Building Canada Plan’s Small Communities Fund.

Funding will address local needs through improved water and wastewater systems, waste management, major roads and disaster mitigation infrastructure. The results are expected to enhance municipal services for residents and boost regional development.

“Our government’s commitment to municipalities, big and small, has never been stronger,” said Kelly Block, parliamentary secretary to the minister of natural resources and member of parliament for Saskatoon–Rosetown–Biggar. “Through the New Building Canada Plan’s Small Communities Fund, we are investing in priority infrastructure projects that have a positive and lasting impact on the quality of life of Saskatchewan’s residents while helping create jobs and economic growth.”

So far, the ventures include 11 drinking water projects, 12 wastewater projects, one highway project, one disaster mitigation project and one solid waste management project.
