A 35-storey Class A building, part of the Bentall Centre office complex in Vancouver, has earned LEED Gold certification from the Canada Green Building Council.
Bentall Tower IV, where Ivanhoé Cambridge is owner and manager and TD Canada Trust is anchor tenant, received the designation for several initiatives.
A full retro-commissioning of the building reduced annual energy consumption by four per cent and energy costs by six per cent.
In addition, all lighting was upgraded to energy efficient lamps. This saved $63,000 in electricity costs and 920,000 kilowatt hours over the course of a year.
“We are very proud of this certification for Bentall Tower IV, which underscores our commitment to sustainability and to meeting our tenants’ need for a modern and environmentally-friendly working environment, said Arthur Lloyd, executive vice-president of Global Investments at Ivanhoé Cambridge.
