The City of Vancouver says its Empty Homes Tax program appears to be working as the number of vacant homes decreased since 2018.

Vancouver will be phasing in an empty homes tax rate hike of 25 per cent for each of the next three years.

Over ninety-eight per cent of Vancouver homeowners submitted a declaration for Vancouver's Empty Homes Tax prior to the March 5, 2018 deadline.
