The Province of Nova Scotia has extended its five per cent rent cap to 2027, in addition to announcing other amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act.

From rent increase guidelines to renovictions policies, small residential landlords in particular should take note of the changes that will impact their businesses in 2025.

Updates to the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) are coming September 1, 2021, and Ontario landlords are advised to take note.

The Province of Ontario has updated its standard lease form to take into account RTA changes that were introduced last July by Bill 184.
